چکیده

Abstract Physical exercise is an effective tool for improving public health, but the general population exercises too little. Drawing on recent theorizing combined role of boredom and self-control in guiding goal-directed behavior, we test hypothesis that individual differences differentiate high from low exercisers. The as a non-adaptive disposition particular interest, because research sports scarce. Here, investigate such self-reported weekly behavior (in minutes) sample N = 507 participants (n = 200 female, Mage = 36.43 (±9.54)). We used robust variant Mahalanobis distance to detect remove n = 51 multivariate outliers then performed latent profile analysis assess if (boredom proneness; exercise-related boredom) (trait self-control; if-then planning) combine into identifiable profiles. In line with theoretical considerations, Bayesian Information Criterion favored solution two One was characterized by higher-than-average proneness lower-than-average planning values. This pattern reversed second profile. A one-sided two-sample t-test supported first associated less than profile, BF = 16.93. Our results foster notion adaptive dispositions. More importantly, they point important setting: getting easily bored are activity. boredoms' self-controls’ function behavior.

Adaptive RBF network control for robot manipulators

TThe uncertainty estimation and compensation are challenging problems for the robust control of robot manipulators which are complex systems. This paper presents a novel decentralized model-free robust controller for electrically driven robot manipulators. As a novelty, the proposed controller employs a simple Gaussian Radial-Basis-Function Network as an uncertainty estimator. The proposed netw...

An Adaptive Impedance Controller for Robot Manipulators

A desired dynamic behavior of constrained manipulators can be achieved by means of impedance control and various implementations of fixed controllers have been proposed. In this paper, and adaptive implementation is presented as an alternative to reduce the design sensitivity due to manipulator mismatch. The adaptive controller globally achieves the impedance objective for the nonlinear dynamic...

Adaptive search area for fast motion estimation

In this paper a new method for determining the search area for motion estimation algorithm based on block matching is suggested. In the proposed method the search area is adaptively found for each block of a frame. This search area is similar to that of the full search (FS) algorithm but smaller for most blocks of a frame. Therefore, the proposed algorithm is analogous to FS in terms of reg...
